With the Canon EFS 10-22 You Will Never Strip Your Focus Rings Again

Buy a Print: Shadow Cast | Scott Haefner PhotographyI have had quite a bit of trouble with my impatience and caused some damage to my previous lenses because of that, which is why I am so happy that the Canon EFS 10-22 solves that problem for me. The focus rings on my lenses used to wear very quickly, as I often forget to switch from autofocus to manual focus to get my images sharp. When I am caught up in the moment and need to take that all-important shot, I don’t want to pause halfway to first switch to the manual settings when the lens is struggling to autofocus. This often happens in dimly lit conditions, where I struggle to see the switch in any ways. In my frustration I often try to focus manually by turning the focus ring while it is still in autofocus mode, which wears the focus ring and can even strip it. Luckily Canon has put an end to all of that with the EFS 10-22mm, by allowing a so-called “one shot AF mode” during which I can focus manually without having to flip a switch.
